BAPW appoints new chairman

On 4 October 2006, the British Association of Pharmaceutical Wholesalers appointed a new Chairman - Ian Brownlee, Managing Director of BAPW member company Mawdsley-Brooks & Co. Ltd.

Announcing Ian's appointment, BAPW Executive Director Martin Sawer said:

“I am delighted that Ian Brownlee of Mawdsley-Brooks & Co. Ltd. has been unanimously elected by BAPW members to be the new Chairman with immediate effect until formal elections take place at the 2007 AGM.”

David Coles, Managing Director of UniChem Ltd had announced his resignation as Chairman of the BAPW on 3 October, a decision reached amicably with the BAPW following a commercial conflict of interest. David's chairmanship had been due to finish at the end of 2006.

Martin Sawer said:

“I have very much enjoyed working with David Coles and, during his time as Chairman of the BAPW, David has represented the full-line wholesaling sector both professionally and progressively, much to the benefit of the Association.”

“UniChem continues to play its part as a Full Member of the BAPW and its Council.”
